Herkimer BOCES WEB Complex cleared following carbon monoxide alarm
Nov. 7, 2017

Early this morning, on Tuesday, Nov. 7, a carbon monoxide alarm was detected at the Herkimer-Fulton-Hamilton-Otsego BOCES William E. Busacker Complex.

Staff were directed to evacuate the building as a measure of precaution. Any students who were already in the building were escorted out, and all arriving students were held on the buses.

Although the alarms quickly stopped, the fire department was called to clear the building to ensure there were no additional concerns. Upon the firefighters' inspection, the building was cleared, and all staff and students were allowed to return to the building.

BOCES emergency procedures were followed. At no time were any staff or students in danger.á

With any questions, please contact Herkimer BOCES District Superintendent Sandra Sherwood.
