Herkimer Region College & Career Scholarship Foundation
awards local students

The Herkimer Region College & Career Scholarship Foundation recently awarded scholarships for the 2015-2016 college year.

At a breakfast event held on June 13 at Francescaís in Ilion, the following students won general $650 scholarships given out by the foundation:
  • Jade Judson, of Central Valley;
  • Melinda Holmes, of Central Valley;
  • Michael Twomey, of Richfield Springs;
  • Rachel Agne, of West Canada Valley;
  • Hannah Bostwick, of West Canada Valley;
  • Taryen Schultz, of West Canada Valley;
  • Angela Harrington, of Little Falls;
  • Morgan Buss, of Mount Markham;
  • Jeffrey Weeks, of Owen D. Young; and
  • Dustin Monk, of Owen D. Young.
Carissa Tasovac, of West Canada Valley, and Joshua Mayton, of Owen D. Young, were respectively named as the first and second alternates for the scholarships.

Judson also won the $100 Robert A. Moore Scholarship, Holmes also won the $200 Chris Brockway Scholarship, Twomey also won the $100 William E. Whitehill Jr. Scholarship and Agne also won the $100 Grayce Dady Family Scholarship.

There also were $650 scholarships awarded to two adult licensed practical nursing students: Jessica Loucks, of Utica, and Jessica Bankert, of Utica. Catalina Allen, of Little Falls, was named as the alternate. Additionally, a special nursing award of $650 was given to Gerricka Fahy, of Fort Plain.
