Herkimer-Fulton-Hamilton-Otsego BOCES speech, physical therapy and occupational therapy staff practice exercises from Pyramid of Potential owner Kathy Johnson’s “Growing Brains Everyday” curriculum on Friday, March 20, at Herkimer BOCES.

Herkimer-Fulton-Hamilton-Otsego BOCES speech, physical therapy and occupational therapy staff recently had the opportunity to learn some new techniques from Kathy Johnson, owner of Pyramid of Potential in Saratoga.

During the Superintendent’s Conference Day on Friday, March 20, Johnson presented to 20 staff members at Herkimer BOCES.

Johnson helped staff understand the importance of integrating primitive reflexes for learning-challenged students and for themselves. Johnson also created “Growing Brains Everyday,” a 150-day curriculum that takes 10 minutes per day and includes exercises for neurodevelopment, auditory processing, visual processing, memory, attention, processing speed and logic.

The speech, physical therapy and occupational therapy staff were able to use this daylong workshop as in-service credit for licensure. Her curriculum and DVD have been purchased for therapists to use.
