Second school year of VP-TECH begins with teambuilding
Sept. 9, 2016

VP-TECH team building activities

One of the focuses of the first week of the second school year of Valley Pathways in Technology Early College High School has been teambuilding among the first-year and second-year students.

School started on Wednesday, Sept. 7, and VP-TECH students have been participating in teambuilding activities such as the one pictured above of students outside Herkimer-Fulton-Hamilton-Otsego BOCES.

Students from Herkimer BOCES component school districts enter VP-TECH in ninth grade and spend up to six years in the program – leaving it with a Regents diploma, an associate degree in quality assurance from Herkimer College, a certification in advanced manufacturing and connections with local businesses.

The first class of VP-TECH students started in the 2015-16 school year, and the 2016-17 group is the second VP-TECH class. Students from the second class also were assigned mentors from the first class this week.
