SHERKIMER – With the 2016 Summer Olympics about to get underway, prekindergarten teachers at Herkimer-Fulton-Hamilton-Otsego BOCES have been talking to their students about the Olympics.

On Thursday, Aug. 4, the students welcomed a special guest, U.S. Paralympic athlete Katie Maneen.

Maneen, who is the daughter of Peggy Maneen of the prekindergarten program, runs with a prosthetic right leg and participated in the Paralympic Games in the summer of 2012 in Indianapolis, where she was named an alternate for the U.S. Paralympic track and field team.
