Richfield Springs school board seeks
community preferences for superintendent search

Jan. 12, 2016

Richfield Springs Board of Education members are looking for the community’s input on what qualities district residents are looking for in the next superintendent of schools.

Richfield Springs students, parents, employees and community members are invited to take an online survey to share their opinions on the experience, skills, dispositions and personal qualities they prefer, as well as other thoughts they have about finding the ideal superintendent candidate.

The survey can be found online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/RichfieldSp and must be submitted by Monday, Feb. 1. Links to download the superintendent search brochure and application for the position are available on the main page at www.herkimer-boces.org.

Former Richfield Springs Superintendent Daniel Myers resigned effective Oct. 16, 2015. The Richfield Springs Board of Education contracted with Herkimer-Fulton-Hamilton-Otsego BOCES District Superintendent Mark Vivacqua to lead the superintendent search and conduct screening interviews with candidates, before board and constituent interviews take place.

Richfield Springs Interim Superintendent Cliff Moses will fill the position through the end of the superintendent search, with the new superintendent expected to start July 1, 2016.

The school board appreciates working with the community on this project and would like to thank district residents for their continued support during this process.
